Congrats To The LA Kings!!! 2012 Stanley Cup Champs

Here at Oilers Jambalaya, we would like to extend our congratulations to the Los Angeles Kings on becoming the 2012 Stanley Cup Champions.

We also congratulate former Edmonton Oiler players Jarrett Stoll, Matt Greene, Dustin Penner and Colin Fraser on a job well done.

We also can't forget goaltending coach Bill Ranford either. He's obviously done a wonderful job helping Jonathon Quick find his Conn Smythe performance.

Congrats Kings! You deserve it.

THE MEAT AND POTATOES

The Good:

- Devan Dubnyk is on a streak!!! Two wins in a row. Wow! Does this mean he starts a 3rd in a row? I'll bet on it. Anyone else appreciate the retro Bill Ranford gear that Dubnyk wears? I love it.

- The Multi Million dollar guy that goes by the name Shawn Horcoff, he had a goal and an assist with a +2. He made that line look good. He did all the work and created the Pisani goal. And for his goal, he was in his normal back door spot. Horcoff was 10W-6L for 63% on the faceoff dot. An unusually good game from Horcoff.

- Zack Stortini actually looked good fighting again. His fight with Stauber was a good one. Storts just kept throwing the raw ham bones at him and I'd say he won that fight. Then, with the game winding down, he fights Doug Murray. Great fight this one was too. Storts wins this one as well. He jersey punched the hell out of Murray. Watch the highlights.

- Robert Nilsson had his usual late season great game. His pick off on the first goal was beauty. He streaks in and beats Nabokov for his 10th goal of the season. 3 shots and 2 takeaways is a good game for Bobby.

- Dustin Penner put out an effort that has not been shown very often. His goal was classic crash the net type of a goal. You would think that he would have known this for a while and would just do it every game. Crash the net and you might get one. He also had an assist on the Johnson goal.

- Mike Comrie fights again. I give Mike a ton of credit for dropping the gloves. He doesn't need to at 5-1. But the guy has guts and he was worked over pretty good. But he ends the fight with a hard right.

- Aaron Johnson does it again. He scored. A slapper form the point. I'd say the Johnson/Staios trade was a good for us deal. I love this kid.

- The Gilbert/Whitney pairing was back in an ass kicking form. Ryan Whitney played over 25 minutes and was +3. Gilbert played over 21 minutes and had an assist on the Pisani goal.

The Not So Good:

- Theo Peckham is out for a while with a separated shoulder that he suffered during the game.

The Side Dish:

- The Springfield Falcons lost to the Bridgeport Tigers 2-1 in overtime. Jordan Eberle scored the only goal for the Falcons. Recap will be posted soon.

- The Stockton Thunder lost 5-2 to the Utah Grizzlies. Game recap will be posted soon.
